The village of Midhavali in the Tehsil area near Mathura district is under threat from flooding caused by heavy rains and the rising water levels of the Yamuna River. To address this situation, a team has been assembled, and a 24-hour duty rotation has been implemented to monitor the water level and the potential dangers posed by the flood.
SDM Sanjay Kumar has assigned Naib Tehsildar Satendra Singh to oversee the monitoring efforts, and the accountants have been instructed by the DM to carry out their duties diligently. Lekhpal Pankesh Kaushik, Narendra Dev, and Devvrat Gautam have been assigned shifts to observe the rising Yamuna from 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 6 am, respectively.
Furthermore, the lekhpal officials have been cautioned about the consequences of negligence, as disciplinary measures may be taken if they fail to perform their duties effectively. The water level of the Yamuna River has already reached the Vankhandi Mahadev shrine outside Midhavali within a span of four days. The local administration is deeply concerned about the possibility of further flooding if the rainfall intensifies.
