Former IAS officer Arvind Kumar became Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission chairman on Monday. He swore to confidentiality and office by Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra. Since June 30, RP Singh, the outgoing Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission chairman, had been empty. Arvind Kumar won the position against other senior IAS officers.
Arvind Kumar was chosen for his electricity sector fieldwork and governance experience. His public availability, outstanding reputation, and favourable contacts with the public also contributed to his appointment.
