This occurrence amid the debate over stopping the water consecration on the historic well in village Shadipur Chidauli enraged the people and worshippers. The July 7 temple attempt sparked controversy.
DCP Anil Yadav claims that on July 7, under Mahendra Pal’s supervision, the Pal community and other Hindu villagers attempted to build a Shiva shrine 50 yards from the old well. Local Muslims opposed it. Iqbal and village leader Abdul Rauf discussed moving the temple. SDM Dadri and ACP II led a July 8 meeting with both communities.
